[ top 10 names for 2008 ]

A few interesting facts:

In 2008, American parents voted for change in naming their children. After a 12-year reign as the most popular baby name, Emily has slipped to third on the list. Emma is now the nation’s most popular name for girls.

The most popular boy’s name, Jacob, remained the same for the 10th year in a row. (I would not have guessed that Jake has the most popular name... or that it has been for the last 10 years...)

[ quilt ]

It's finally done! I started this about 2 years ago and I finally got it done with the help of my friends Beth and Marj! We stayed up late Saturday night, after going to Foodfest for the 50th time (but it was still fun), and sewed and tied it! Bride Wars got us through the sewing and Bedtime Stories got us through the tying.... and a little moose tracks ice cream if truth be told :) But here she is. I'm going to make some pillow shams to go with it. It's huge and I love it :) Yeah.

Sorry this is the only picture I have cause I lent my camera to doug for his trip to CA for his sisters farewell and supposed trip to Nicaragua that he ditched out on. More coming when I finish the pillows :)

[ lunch break ]

Ok, don't hate me, but this is what I've been doing on my lunch break lately. It's finally been sunny and the beach in my backyard is beautiful! This picture is from my phone, but the water is sooo blue/green and clear. But I was taking a walk thinking about how lucky I am and how jealous everyone should be of me and I saw these two guys sitting down talking a ways up and the one with his back facing me had on this red speedo bottom, but it was like a string bikini with ties on the sides. I was like, nice. But I got closer and realized it was a woman and she just didn't have her top on. Just sitting there chatting it up, topless. Excuse me?! Lest you think it's all fun and games over here, I also had to kill 4 cockroaches that night.... 2 of them were flying at me trying to attack! Welcome back warm weather.

[ saturday is a special day ]

Yesterday was so much fun. Staying at Holli's and really fun having a roommate again. Woke up and went to Papa Ole's for breakfast with Doug. Then to Turtle bay for some surfing and a lot of sun. It was really fun. I decided it was time to get out when I almost got washed into the rocks on the side.... hope no one saw that :) Then a delicious sandwich and a bit of a basketball game, doug back surfing, becky relaxing and taking a shower. Then off to make tinfoil dinners at dougs with holli and mark. The most delicious dinner I've had in a while. Even though I put waaaayyy too much seasoning in dougs (didn't know that was possible) he still ate it. Smores. We ended the night by bring the mattresses out and have a movie party at Holli's. so special.

[ costco goodness ]

I don't think I've ever made it home with both loaves intact before. Don't you love this Costco bread? Apparently I do :) And I really do love Costco too. I decided just to try to take back my old beach chairs from there that were kind of falling apart, maybe a year or two old, and they took them back even with no receipt and no hassle :) I am a happy camper with my brand new beach chairs that the refund money bought.
