I heart the Penderwicks. If you're in the mood for a feel good, sweet, easy read with a few chuckles, I suggest reading The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy, by Jeanne Birdsall. It is a really nice story about a dad and his 4 young girls that really love each other, have great personalities and get into lots of funny situations. I'm reading the second one right now (The Penderwicks on Gardam Street), and I'm only in the middle and wondering when is the next one's going to come out already (there will be 5) and sad that I'm quickly coming to the end. .
From the authors page "Meet the Penderwicks, a family who believes in truth and honor, yet can’t seem to stay out of trouble. There's oldest sister Rosalind, responsible for the rest; stubborn, feisty Skye; dreamy Jane; and shy little Batty, whose best friend is Hound, a large dog more loyal than obedient."
